We decided to surprise our guests with a new dish. It was loved by everyone. We fixed it exactly as directed on the box and everyone agreed - it was the best chicken dish we ever had eaten!

  • You Will Need
    • 1 pkg. seasoning mix (included)
    • 1 pkg. vegetable mix (included)
    • 1 pkg. pasta (included)
    • 2½ cups low-sodium chicken broth
    • 4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 3½ to 4 lbs.)
    • 1¼ cup Marsala wine
    • 2 cups fresh-sliced mushrooms
  • My pasta was not cooked after the stated 25 minute cook time? Why?
Different slow cookers cook and keep temperatures differently. If your pasta is not done at 25 minutes, let it cook for 10-15 minutes longer, making sure to keep the lid on as much as possible to hold in the heat.
  • I only have regular chicken broth. Will that work?
Yes, you can use regular chicken broth as a substitute for low-sodium chicken broth, but not on a one-for-one basis. For this recipe, use 2 cups regular chicken broth + ½ cup water to replace the 2 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth.
  • I don’t know have Marsala wine. What else can I use?
A good, crisp, dry white wine can be used instead of Marsala, such as a Pinot Grigio.
  • I don’t have any chicken broth. What can I use as an alternative?
Chicken bouillon cube(s) can be used as a substitute; refer to manufacturer’s instructions for how to hydrate to the amount of liquid required in this recipe (3 1/2 cups). You could also use water, but the flavor will be negatively impacted.
  • I don’t cook with wine. What else can I use instead?
You can replace the wine with an equal amount of water. Do not increase the broth, as this will make the meal too salty.
  • Can I use chicken with bones in and skin on?
At a minimum, the chicken skin should be removed to prevent too much fat in the dish. Bone-in chickens is fine but carefully remove bones before serving.
  • Can I use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts?
Yes, you can use any combination of white and dark meat for this recipe; just try to use about 3 ½ lbs. to 4 lbs. total meat.
