  • You Will Need
    • 1 pkg. seasoning mix (included)
    • 1 pkg. vegetable mix (included)
    • 1 pkg. bean mix (included)
    • 3 cups water
    • 2 cups beef broth
    • 2 lbs. beef stew meat cut into 1-inch cubes
    • 1 can (14.5 oz.) crushed or diced tomatoes
  • I don’t like spicy food! How spicy is this mix?
We tried to calibrate the spice level to “medium”. If you are sensitive to spicy foods, when adding the red spice packet, hold some of it back. After the cooking time has ended, try the chili. If the mix doesn’t seem spicy enough, add a bit more of the spice blend until you have a spice level you like.
  • I don’t have any beef broth. What can I use as an alternative?
Beef bouillon cube(s) can be used as a substitute; refer to manufacturer’s instructions for how to hydrate to the amount of liquid required in this recipe (2 cups). You could also use water, but the flavor will be negatively impacted.
  • I cooked for the recommended time, but my beans are still firm. What should I do?
Different slow cookers cook a bit differently! Continue to cook the Beef Chili for another 15 – 30 minutes, until the beans are softened.
  • Can I use this mix if I’m a vegetarian?
There is nothing in the dry mix that is animal based. You can make a vegetarian chili by replacing the beef broth with vegetable broth and using a vegetable-based protein replacement for the beef, such as TVP or soy crumbles.
  • Can I use ground beef instead of beef stew meat?
Yes, replace the beef stew meat with an equal amount of ground beef. For better texture, brown the ground beef first and drain off any excess fat before adding to the chili.
